NEWS: Local Emergency Planning Committee Offers Free Training in Emergency Response, Safety and Environmental Issues

Business owners, educators and public safety professionals will have the opportunity to learn about important emergency response, safety and environmental issues that affect them at the Business, Environmental and Safety Training (BEST) Conference at the McKimmon Center, 1101 Gorman St., Raleigh, on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Conference registration, parking and lunch are free. Attendee registration and vendor exhibitions begin at 8 a.m.

This event is presented by the Wake County’s Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), with assistance from the Emergency Management Division of Fire and Emergency Management, Hazardous Environmental Product Abatement Company (HEPAC) and Covidien/Mallinckrodt, and will cover such topics as spill reporting, ergonomics, public safety best practices and hazardous waste management. Five tracks will be offered as concurrent workshops, and vendors from around the region are expected to display their products during the conference.
