NEWS: Public Hearings on Budget to be Held June 1

Wake County citizens are invited to provide feedback on the fiscal year 2010 recommended budget to the Board of Commissioners during two public hearings on Monday, June 1, 2009.

The first hearing will be held during the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting at 2 p.m. in Room 700 of the Wake County Courthouse, 335 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh. The second hearing will be held at 7 p.m. in the Wake County Commons Building, 4011 Carya Drive, Raleigh.

County Commissioners encourage all citizens to attend one of the two hearings or watch them online through the Wake County Web site. To view these meetings online, go to www.wakegov.com/commissioners and click on the "View Meetings" button. The 2 p.m. meeting will be streamed live, and video from the 7 p.m. meeting will be available online on Tuesday, June 2, 2009.

While watching the meetings on their computer, visitors can follow the agenda posted beside the on-screen video player. Online viewers can also click on an indexed agenda and "jump to" a specific topic during the meeting.
