FEATURE: Space Available for Wake County Women's Forum

7/8/2009

Women of Wake County striving toward middle class status and economic self-sufficiency are invited to the "Women on the Move" forum on Saturday, August 15, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the WakeMed Andrews Center, 3000 New Bern Ave., Raleigh. Seating is still available for this free event; registration ends Friday, July 31, 2009.

"We are excited to be able to engage and inform women who are striving to reach economic independence," said Health Promotion Manager Sonya Reid. "Our goal is to help Wake County’s women make the next step in reaching their full potential."

The goal of the forum is to connect local women with information and resources to help enhance their quality of life. Seminar topics will address:

  • women’s health issues,
  • healthy relationships,
  • personal safety,
  • finances
  • and more.

New/unused toiletry items will be collected from attendees and donated to Passage Home, a local nonprofit community development program.
