New Park Planning Under Way: Public Meeting April 29

Citizens living in eastern Wake County are invited to attend a public forum on the new Lake Myra County Park on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at 7 p.m. in the Wendell Community Center Gymnasium, 601 W. Third St., Wendell. The meeting is an opportunity for residents to learn about and participate in the planning process for the new Lake Myra County Park.
The Lake Myra County Park public meeting agenda will include:
- Planning and design team introduction
- Master Plan process introduction
- Explanation of "County Park"
- Site analysis review
- Citizen discussion and sharing of history and personal memories of the site
- Initial citizen discussion on park features
- Online survey introduction
- Next steps and subsequent meeting.
Citizens are invited to bring photographs and memorabilia related to the Lake Myra property to the meeting. Wake County staff will scan selected photographs and other information for project files.
The 220-acre park will be located along Poole Road, north of the intersection of Poole Road and Lake Myra Road.
