FEATURE: 10th Annual Frog Fest at Crowder District Park

Leap over to Wake County’s Crowder District Park, 4709 Ten-Ten Road, Apex, for the 10th Annual Frog Fest, Saturday, April 4, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Learn about amphibians, reptiles and water quality. Fun, educational activities are planned for the family including games, crafts, live animals and entertainment. The event is free and a shuttle is available.
Events and Exhibits:
· Sing-a-Long with Trish Miller at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
· Take part in a rain barrel workshop. There is a $40 fee to participate.
· Tour the Rain Garden and Stormwater Wetland with a NCSU extension specialist.
· The North Carolina Museum of Natural Science will have salamanders on display.
· N.C. Partners for Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, North Carolina State University’s Herp Club and the Turtle Team will have live turtles, snakes, frogs and more!
· A study of pond critters will take place on the Boardwalk.
· Meet "Walipog," the Frog Fest Mascot and "Water Quality Frog."
· Kids are invited to take part in obstacle courses, games in the Lily Pad area, crafts, tattoos, bubbles and more.
· T-shirts and refreshments will be available.
Shuttle Service
Avoid the parking hassle by using a bus shuttle from Cary Alliance Church, 4108 Ten-Ten Road, Apex. Shuttle service runs from 9:50 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
