FEATURE: Wake Area Business Advisory Council Hosts Sales Training Session Feb. 26

2/20/2009

The Wake Area Business Advisory Council (BAC) met Thursday, February 26, 2009, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., at the Wake County Human Services Building, 220 Swinburne St., Room 2149, Raleigh. Local business professionals, human resources leaders and workforce development professionals were invited to attend BAC meetings.

The February BAC meeting featured Dave Brown, sales trainer from Success Starts Now, a company which has specialized in sales execution and training for more than 150 years. The workshop provided attendants with at least 10 new ideas that can help generate more sales, make more money and have more fun at work.

"Recruiters and job developers are tasked with selling their organization, clients, program and direct services," stated John O’Connor, BAC program chair and president of Career Pro, Inc. "The principles shared will help provide the tools needed to be successful in the non-traditional, sales-related market."

Membership was not required and new visitors could attend at no charge.

In 1997, Wake County and several private sector representatives created the Wake Area BAC. The BAC’s mission is to develop and promote employment opportunities and resources for participants of Wake County employment and training programs through partnering with area businesses.
