FEATURE: Annual Mutt Strutt to Support Animals In Wake County
10/27/2009
Wake County animal lovers and their dogs are invited to attend the 10th Annual Mutt Strutt, a dog walk fundraiser supporting the Wake County Animal Care, Control and Adoption Center on Saturday, November 7, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Historic Oak View County Park, 4028 Carya Drive, Raleigh.
Funds raised will support the Animal Center’s foster care program by offsetting the cost of supplies and food for pet foster families. The foster care program provides temporary homes for animals that cannot yet be spayed or neutered due to health reasons, or for animals that need additional socialization or specialized care prior to adoption. More than 11,000 animals are brought to the Wake County Animal Center each year.
Mutt Strutt is a free event with activities for owners and pets, including a one-mile dog walk, dog contests, demonstrations, exhibits, vendors and raffles. Wake County will also offer rabies and mircrochipping clinics for $5 and $10, respectively.
Pet owners who would like to have their pet vaccinated for rabies are required to bring a copy of their pet’s previous vaccination records to the clinic in order for their pet to receive a 3-year rabies booster.
