NEWS: Seasonal Flu and Pneumonia Vaccination Clinic Expanded at Wake's Eastern Regional Center

Wake County’s Eastern Regional Center, 1002 Dogwood Drive, Zebulon, will expand the hours for its seasonal flu vaccination clinic beginning Friday, October 16, 2009. The clinic has been seeing patients by appointment only, but will now be open every remaining Friday in October, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. without an appointment. Seasonal FluMist and pneumonia shots will be available during this clinic and at all other Wake County seasonal flu clinics. The new schedule is:

Eastern Regional Center

No appointment is necessary.

Appointments are required receive a seasonal flu or pneumonia vaccination at the Eastern Regional Center any other time. To schedule an appointment, call 404-3900.

The cost for a seasonal flu shot or seasonal FluMist is $30; the cost for a pneumonia shot is $60. Traditional Medicare Part B will cover the cost of seasonal flu and pneumonia shots. Those with Medicare should bring their Medicare cards. People with Medicare HMOs or other insurance should pay at the time of service. There is no charge for children 6 months through age 18. Pregnant women may also be eligible for a free vaccination and should ask at the time of service.

Other Wake County seasonal flu and pneumonia clinics will follow the previously publicized schedule.
