FEATURE: Wake County Set to Open Leesville Community Library

Wake County will officially open Leesville Community Library, 5105 Country Trail, Raleigh, following a dedication ceremony at the library site on Saturday, September 26, 2009, at 11 a.m. Officials from Wake County and the City of Raleigh will be joined by residents to celebrate the library’s opening.
The library will be surrounded by a 55-acre park, which will be maintained by the Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department. As part of an agreement with the City of Raleigh, the park is equipped with a playground and picnic facilities. Long-range plans include the construction of a community center and walking trails.
The 8,000-square-foot library will offer 55,000 books, 20 public computers and programs designed for library patrons of all ages. More than 80 volunteers from the surrounding community have already signed up to help library staff.
