FEATURE: Registration Open for 4-H Summer Sleep-Away Camp

Wake County’s 4-H Youth Development program is hosting its annual Sleep-Away Summer Camp from Sunday, June 19 through Friday, June 24, 2011, at the Betsy-Jeff Penn Educational Center, 804 Cedar Lane, Reidsville. The camp is open to boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 12. The cost is $375 and includes the following:
- transportation to and from the camp
- all meals
- lodging
- a $15 camp store credit
- camp T-shirt
The last day to enroll in the camp is Sunday, May 15, 2011. A three-part payment arrangement is available.
Attending the camp offers participants the chance to enhance interpersonal skills, ecological knowledge and community awareness. Activities include horseback riding, canoeing, arts and crafts, a high ropes course, swimming, archery and more on 250 wooded acres with a 25-acre lake and swimming pool. Accredited by the American Camping Association, the Center provides continual supervision with one staff per eight campers.
