NEWS: Wake Board of Commissioners Approves 2010 Budget

6/15/2009

The Wake County Board of Commissioners adopted the County Manager’s 2010 recommended budget with amendments during their regularly scheduled meeting today, June 15, 2009, in room 700 of the Wake County Courthouse, 335 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh.

The amendment will keep Duraleigh and Athens Drive Branch Libraries open for at least one year. The amendment will be paid for by reducing the allocation to the African American festival and identifying an additional $500,000 in capital one-time budget reductions.

Wake’s 2010 budget maintains the property tax rate at 53.4 cents and includes the elimination of more than 100 positions, the majority of which are vacant.
