3/20/2008
The Wake Area Business Advisory Council (BAC) will meet on Thursday, March 27, 2008, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at Human Services Center-Swinburne, Room 2149, 220 Swinburne St., Raleigh. Local business professionals, human resources leaders and workforce development professionals are invited to attend BAC meetings.
“Wake Area Business Advisory Council meetings are an excellent opportunity to learn more about the community, whether your business is thinking about expanding to serve Raleigh and the surrounding communities or if your business is already there,” said Human Services Workforce Development Coordinator Janny Flynt.
The March meeting will feature Robert (Bob) Fuller, managing member, DNBS Consulting, LLC. Fuller will present, Creating WE: Change I-Thinking to We-Thinking and Build a Healthy Thriving Organization. The program will teach participants how to create environments that are more collaborative. Participants will also explore the nature of I- and We-centric mindsets and how to create transformation in organizations.
Membership is not required, and new visitors may attend at no charge. To RSVP please call 919-212-7594 or send an e-mail to janny.flynt@co.wake.nc.us. Networking and refreshments will begin at 8:45 a.m.
“Considering how our mindscape determines what we focus on, what we see, how we react and how we influence others is a powerful way of thinking,” said John O’Connor, president of Career Pro, Inc., and chair of the Programming Committee for the BAC. “We are very excited to offer such specialized leadership training to our members.”
In 1997, Wake County and several private sector representatives created the Wake Area BAC. The BAC's mission is to develop and promote employment opportunities and resources, for participants of Wake County employment and training programs, through partnering with area businesses.
