Teachers and children from the school will help welcome the newest addition to the Wake County Public Library System bookmobile fleet. After a short ceremony, the students will chant "Please, Move that Bus," a phrase made popular by the ABC reality show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. At that time, an older bookmobile will drive away to officially make room for its new partner.

"Bookmobiles are a great tool for teaching children to read and love literature," said Judy Packer, Wake County Bookmobile Services for Young Children Manager. "When the bus pulls into the parking lot of a school or daycare center their faces light up. They love the bright beautiful colors that decorate the bus and the picture books, board books and audio books they know they will find inside."

The new bookmobile design fully compliments the young readers it serves. The exterior artwork depicts a landscape of whimsical characters, including the three blind mice and other nursery rhyme favorites. The design was created by Cary artist Amanda Dicken and Raleigh graphic designer Elaine Chapin.

Wake County Public Libraries provides bookmobile service to young children and their caregivers in large and small centers across the county.
