NEWS: Absentee Voting by Mail Ends October 27, Early Voting Ends October 31

Wake County citizens who would like to vote absentee-by-mail have until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, to request an absentee ballot. Requests for a ballot must include the voter’s name, date of birth, residence address, address to which the ballot should be mailed (if different than the residence address), daytime telephone number and the voter’s signature.

Ballots will be mailed within one to two days after receipt of the request. To be counted, the voted ballot must be received by the Board of Elections by 5 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2009.
Anyone who is not currently registered to vote or needs to update an address can do so at an early voting site by 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Early voting times and locations are as follows:

Monday, October 26 – Friday, October 30, 2009 --- 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, October 31, 2009 --- 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Monday, October 26 – Friday, October 30, 2009 --- 3 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, October 31, 2009 --- 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Wednesday, October 28 – Friday, October 30, 2009 --- 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, October 31, 2009 --- 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
