Farmer’s Corner Now Open at Historic Oak View County Park

The Farmer’s Corner will be dedicated to the memory of Kit Boney, an enthusiastic volunteer.
Historic Oak View County Park is pleased to announce the opening of the “Farmer’s Corner,” in the park’s Farm History Center. The Farmer’s Corner is an interactive area designed to teach children about rural and agricultural life in the early 20th century through hands-on games, puzzles, books and a touch-screen computer. The Farmer’s Corner will be open to the public beginning Thursday, April 24, 2008. It will be open:

        • Monday through Friday, from noon to 5 p.m.
        • Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
        • Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.

The Farmer’s Corner will be dedicated to the memory of Kit Boney, an enthusiastic volunteer who was instrumental in gaining community support and funding to open Historic Oak View as a public historic site in the 1990s. Boney was a strong advocate for the educational value of the site.
