Monday, October 5 to Friday, October 30 – Duraleigh Road Library Closed for Renovations
Duraleigh Road Library will close for renovations beginning Monday, October 5, 2009. The library will have a grand re-opening on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at 10 a.m. All books normally checked-out for three weeks will be due back on Monday, November 9, 2009. Seven-day new books may be returned to other branches or to Duraleigh using the outside book drops. While Duraleigh Library is being renovated, patrons are invited to visit the new Leesville Community Library, 5105 Country Trail Drive, Raleigh.

Wednesday, October 7, 7-8 p.m. – Energy Fun
Join natural balance specialist Shawn Gibson at the East Regional Library to learn about the "Anatomy of Energy" and how it relates to overall health. For information, call 217-5301. East Regional Library is located at 946 Steeple Square Court, Knightdale.

Tuesday, October 13, 5-7 p.m. – Job and Career Assistance
Get free resume and online job application assistance in the computer lab at Cameron Village Regional Library. Sunday, October 18, 1:30-3:30 p.m. – Theremin Lovers
Watch a documentary about Professor Leon Theremin, the creator of an early musical instrument called the Theremin, and learn to play this unique instrument. The documentary spans Theremin’s remarkable life from classical music superstar, to being kidnapped by the KGB (the former U.S.S.R. national security agency), to finding his long lost love. Tuesday, October 20, 2:30-3:30 p.m. – Tuesday Tales for Homeschoolers

Wednesday, October 21, 7-7:25 p.m. – Pajama Time
Wear your favorite pajamas and bring the family for a night of fun. Attendees can enjoy a 25-minute program of songs, finger plays, rhymes, flannel board stories and books.
