Communications Office

The Communications Office focuses on internal and external communications with various audiences to ensure that the County’s message is heard. The Communications Office has several traditional tasks it performs to communicate with these audiences.
  • The Communications Office publishes the County’s employee newsletter, Insights, for internal communications while also relying on broadcast email messages for issues of time-sensitive importance.
  • External communication tasks involve assisting in the development of the County Manager’s budget message; producing the County’s television show, WakeGov TV; preparing speeches and press releases on County issues; coordinating responses to media inquiries; publishing the annual report on County initiatives and activities; writing and distributing the meeting highlights from the Board of Commissioners’ meetings; and participating in crisis communications and disaster preparedness drills.
