The Leesville Community Library, 5105 Country Trail, Raleigh, which sustained extensive damage from fire and smoke due to an arson fire in February, reopened to the public on Saturday, September 5.

Repairs to the library were completed by the Riley Contracting Group, and the completed work includes repairs to the roof, circulation area, book return room and public restrooms. The exterior book return was replaced and a protective fire suppression system was installed. This system will prevent the same type of damage from occurring again as any fire will be extinguished by the fire suppression system.

Rainbow International, the restoration design contractor, cleaned and deodorized the building and the contents of the building including furniture, shelving, supplies, HVAC unit, and the collection of 46,000 books.

In addition to the restoration and repairs, the floor plan was updated to provide more space for youth services, new carpet was installed, and new furniture and computers were purchased for the library.
