Nonprofit Resource Center


Foundation CenterCameron Village Regional Library's Nonprofit Resource Center (NRC) offers unique research materials on a wide array of topics of interest to the nonprofit sector. As a member of the Foundation Center's nationwide network of libraries, community foundations and other nonprofit agencies, the NRC provides visitors with free public access to grantmaker and grant directories, books on fundraising, grantwriting and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center's electronic databases.

The NRC, located on the 2nd floor of the Cameron Village Regional Library, is available anytime the library is open. Appointments are available for those who wish to have an in-depth orientation to the collection and its uses. Contact the Cameron Village Reference Department at 856-6703 for more information. North Carolina Center for Nonprofits

Founded in 1990, the N.C. Center for Nonprofits is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves as a statewide network for nonprofit board and staff members, an information center on effective organizational practices, and an advocate for the nonprofit sector as a whole. They offer services directly to all sizes and types of 501(c)(3) nonprofits and they work closely with other local, state and national groups that assist nonprofits.

Triangle Community Foundation

Triangle Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization that serves Chatham, Durham, Orange and Wake counties. The Foundation manages funds established by individuals, businesses and families to support local, regional and national nonprofits, churches and educational institutions.

The foundation make grants, averaging $13 million annually, and administers a variety of programs for the community's benefit including scholarships. 80 percent of the Foundation’s grantmaking is made through its donor-advised funds. However, the Foundation also manages an open, competitive grantmaking program, the Community Grantmaking Program, to which organizations can apply for funds. The average grant size is $12,000 to $15,000. Grants support projects or organizations in two focus areas: Civic Engagement and Youth Leadership & Development .

North Carolina Community Foundation

The North Carolina Community Foundation is a statewide community development organization created to build capacity through philanthropy. They administer more than $110 million in assets that sustain nearly 1,000 endowment funds established to provide long-term support of a broad range of charitable needs, nonprofit organizations, and scholarships in more than 60 counties across the state, with an emphasis on underserved areas.
