The Library's E-Mail Reference Service is available weekdays, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., to answer short reference questions in a timely fashion. If you need immediate assistance, please call the library directly at 919-250-1200.

Please provide plenty of information about your question, including your library account number. This will help us to quickly and completely provide your answer.

Questions requiring substantial research or lots of data are best asked in person at one of our branch locations. We will provide search strategies and referrals for these types of questions.

E-mail your question to askalibrarian@co.wake.nc.us. Please include your preferred e-mail address.

NCknows is a service that allows North Carolina citizens to get help from librarians and use their library resources from their computer. By typing messages back and forth, you can communicate with a librarian, browse Web pages together, receive articles from NC LIVE, and get answers to questions. It's free, helpful and easy.

Librarians from academic, public and special libraries staff NCknows. By coordinating with participating libraries across the state and other libraries across the country, we are able to offer help around the clock.

Wake County Public Libraries is a participant in NCknows. At various times, a librarian from your library is online, ready to answer questions. Though you may not be interacting with a librarian from Wake County all of the time, anyone you reach will be able to answer your question, or refer you to the right source.
