Suggest a Purchase

The library uses ILLiad, its Interlibrary Loan request system, to accept purchase suggestions. If you already have an ILLiad account, click here to log in and make your suggestion using the “Suggest a Purchase” option.

If you have not used ILLiad before please click here and then click on the “First Time Users Click Here” button to set up your ILLiad account. Once you have created an account, you can then proceed to the “Suggest a Purchase” option. Your suggestion will be sent the Collection Development Department librarians who will review your request and make purchase decisions based on the library’s collection development guidelines. You will then be notified by email, or you can check the status of your request online using the ILLiad system.

Here are some tips for using the “Suggest a Purchase” service:
  • Provide as much information about the book or audio as possible.
  • Please do not request videos or DVDs for purchase.
  • Please wait to suggest a new title until two months before the book's release date, if you know the date. In many instances, the library pre-orders materials up to ninety days in advance of their release dates and makes the records available in the online catalog for placing holds.
  • Please consider placing an interlibrary loan request instead if the title is more than 2 years old or of limited popularity. The library places a priority on meeting demand for the most current and popular materials. This means that we are often unable to purchase older, lesser-known titles.
