Nationally Celebrated Storytellers & Musical Guests

Ron Jones
Ron Jones has been telling stories in libraries, museums, schools and at festivals throughout the country for over 35 years. His stories for all ages range from folktales and fairytales to original stories and songs.
Baron von Rumblebuss
Baron von Rumblebuss (also known as Tray Batson) and his Redd Zeppelin band play humorous pop-rock songs with family-friendly lyrics.  His inventive, original children’s songs such as “Bubble Wrap” and “Rock Robots” are guaranteed to get children on their feet, dancing to the beat.
The Healing Force
The Healing Force turns any performance into a celebration of African culture and spirit. Joseph, Sonji and Karim will lift your heart and they will expect you to lift your voices in participation with their stories.
Donna Washington
Donna Washington is a multiple award-winning recording artist, author of numerous books, and has performed at thousands of schools, libraries and storytelling festivals. She appeals to a wide range of audiences, telling legends, folk and fairy tales, as well as personal stories with equal skill and flair.

Wake County’s talented youth librarians will present storytimes modeling core practices from Every Child Read to Read early literacy program. Families can also enjoy songs on the wagon shuttle and hands-on learning experiences at the activity tents. A food vendor will also be on site for attendees to grab a quick lunch.

Families are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and spend the fall day listening to tales in a beautiful park setting. Storytelling will occur underneath large tents and the event will occur, rain or shine.

Presented in partnership with Wake County Parks, Recreation, and Open Space.
