What are we doing?

We're upgrading our catalog software.

Why are we doing this?

Upgrading our catalog software is not only important in enhancing functionality, but it is an important step in moving away from dependence on an outdated server and enhancing security.

When is this happening? How long will it take?

The upgrade will start at 10 a.m. on the morning of Friday, Oct. 13. It is expected to take around 5-6 hours.

What services will be available during the move?

  • You can check out books in the library as long as you bring your library card. (We will be unable to look up accounts using Drivers’ Licenses or other information.)
  • You will still be able to get eBooks and eAudio by going directly to the Overdrive website.
  • You will still be able to use the Public PCs and Public Printers in the libraries.
  • The request forms for Adult Professional Services such as Get that Job!, Device Advice, etc. will be available.
  • You will still be able to use most of our online request services, such as: Conference Room Requests; Suggest a Purchase; Book Club Kit Requests.

What services will not be available during the move?

  • No requests can be placed on physical books at this time.
  • The BRiAN online catalog will not be available.
  • Databases will not be accessible.
  • We think this covers most of it, but we can’t guarantee this is an exhaustive list! If you find something that isn’t working during this time that is not listed here, please let us know.

Please plan accordingly and thank you for understanding!
