Margaret MaronCelebrate North Carolina with Wake County Public Libraries
“Close to Home,” a programming series centered on the works of
award-winning author Margaret Maron. A North Carolina native,
Maron lives on the family farm southeast of Raleigh, which is
the setting for her Deborah Knott mystery series. Bootlegger’s
Daughter
, the first book in the series, introduces District Court
Judge Deborah Knott and her large family and remains the
only book to have won the Edgar, the Agatha, the Anthony
and the Macavity awards for Best Novel. Readers discover
North Carolina’s history and culture through Deborah Knott’s
perspective, including the state’s transition from agriculture to
high tech giant. In September and October, the Library will offer
more than 90 programs at six locations.
