Annual meeting:

Elaine Luddy Klonicki to speak at the Friends Annual Meeting on April 22, 2008.

The Friends of the Wake Forest Library’s April 22 Annual Meeting at the Wake County Northern Regional Center will feature Elaine Luddy Klonicki, local author and sister of Friends of the Wake Forest Library Life Member, Bob Luddy. The public is invited to attend Elaine’s program which will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Elaine Klonicki is a freelance writer who has lived in the Raleigh area for more than 30 years. Elaine was born in Harrisburg, Pa., and grew up in Philadelphia. She has a B.A. in Psychology from N.C. State. Before becoming a freelancer, she did technical writing for 12 years and later worked in employee development and human resources.

Her first book, "Thinking About Therapy? What to Expect From 'The Talking Cure,'” was published in 2002. It is a guidebook for people seeking psychotherapy, based on her own experiences going through therapy as a young adult going through a divorce.

Her second book, "Captured Words: A Sentimental Journey," self-published in 2004, is a book of funny and inspiring personal essays on themes such as parenting, family, relationships and friendship.

Elaine plans to talk about her latest nonfiction book, "All on Account of You: a True WWII Love Story." Told in her mom’s voice, the book includes her dad’s love letters. The title is based on a song Elaine’s dad wrote for her mom before their wedding. The program will be presented using letters, music and photographs.
