Duties: Provide pre-hospital intermediate/paramedic ambulance care to sick/injured persons and transport them to local area hospitals at least 60 hours per month and attend classroom training during paramedic course intercession on an average of 14 hours per month. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology; ability to perform moderately complex and highly complex testing as outlined by CLIA requirements; certification with, or eligibility for, AMT, ASCP or NCA certification in Medical Technology; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, computer competency, and keyboard/typing skills highly preferred. Duties: Obtain venous and/or capillary blood specimens and perform, record, and report CLIA designated waived, moderately complex, and highly complex medical laboratory testing and other related work as required under the general supervision of the Laboratory Director and Laboratory Supervisor; process samples obtained for pick-up or dispatch to other internal laboratory areas or to outside referral laboratories on patients who present themselves to the various clinical areas (at the main Sunnybrook facility and at the outlying Regional Centers) of the Wake County Department of Human Services (WCDHS) and on whom the providers in these clinical areas have given a written request for such procedures to be performed.
