Salary Range: $28,700 to $47,800 Expected Hiring Range: $28,700 to $38,250Work Schedule/Location: Saturdays, Sundays and evenings as necessary to accommodate volunteer schedule requirements/Animal Care, Control and Adoption Center (820 Beacon Lake Drive, Raleigh, NC) Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Office Administration or related field and two years of experience in administrative support; or equivalent. Special Requirements: A valid driver's license and a "safe" driving record required. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience developing, organizing and managing a 200-member volunteer program for a publicly-owned and operated, full-service, animal care and welfare facility; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to work well and thrive with the public in a one-on-one, fast-paced and dynamic environment; excellent organization and time management skills; proven team-building and conflict-resolution skills; the ability to listen to the public and respond in a positive manner as well as a genuine love for the care and well being of animals. Duties: Serve as the Animal Center Volunteer Coordinator; attract, develop and retain a dedicated, enthusiastic and well-trained team of volunteers to support animal care and welfare programs and services offered at the Wake County Animal Center; foster a collaborative and cooperative work environment between staff and volunteers to optimize the care and welfare provided for animals at the Animal Center. The success of this position will be measured quantitatively in terms of the number of new volunteers recruited to the program annually; number of volunteer hours logged monthly and annually; number of volunteers that remain active in the program after six months and after one year.
