How do I amend a permit using the permit portal?
To amend a permit in the permit portal, you will need to complete the Wake County Amend form and email it to the Wake County Permit Technicians at Wake.Permitting@wakegov.com  Please submit new plans or site plans to the permit under “Attachments” in the permit portal. You can access the Wake County Amend form by clicking on these links: Wake County Amend Form- MS Word or Wake County Amend Form-PDF  

 
How do I find and print my certificate of occupancy?
Certificate of occupancies are attached to permits under the “Attachments” tab in each permit. To locate the permit after it has been completed, you will need to select “View” in the dashboard and select “My Permits.” Click on the permit number and select “Attachment.” Click on the Certificate of occupancy file to open and print.

 
How do I pay my invoices or re-inspection fees?
You can pay invoices and re-inspection fees using the permit portal when you log-in to your permit portal account, select “View” on the permit portal dashboard. Then select “My Invoices.” Locate the invoice number and select “Add to Cart.” The permit portal has a $3,000 limit on fees that can be paid online. If your invoice is above this limit you will need pay this invoice in person at Wake County Inspections & Permit office.

 
How do I find out the status of my permit or inspections?
You will receive automated emails from the permit portal system when the status of a review or inspection has changed. You can also access your reviews and inspections status when you log-in to you permit portal account and selecting the "Pending" or “Active” tab, then select the permit number and click on the review or inspections tab.
 
You can add required corrections or revised plans for reviews, to the permit, as documents in the attachments tab of the permit. Please inform the Wake County P&I staff member requesting this information that it has been submitted to the permit. Link: Wake County P&I Staff Directory

 
What file format does Wake County P&I accept for permits?
Wake County Inspections & Permits requires all attachments to be in PDF file format.

 
How do I Submit additional information or revised plans?
If the permit application or submitted documents require additional information or re-submittal, you will be notified by an automated email from the permit portal informing you that your permit requires attention. If you are required to submit additional information or new documents, you can add them to the permit, as documents in the attachments tab. How do I print out Wake County approved and stamped documents?
Once the permit has been issued, you will receive an automated email from the permit portal informing you that your permit has been issued. Wake County P&I requires the Wake County approved/stamped building plans, site plans and the Wake County permit card to be onsite for all required inspections. You can access the Wake County approved / stamped documents by accessing your permit in the permit portal and navigating to the “Attachments” tab in the permit. Locate and print the Wake County stamped documents.

 
How do I schedule and see the results of inspections using the permit portal?
You can schedule inspections using the permit portal by selecting the “Active" tab, then select the permit number to schedule an inspection. Select the “Inspections” tab and select the inspection you would like to schedule. You can schedule inspections from next business day to 5 business days in advance. Some inspections are in prerequisite order, meaning they cannot be scheduled until other inspections have been approved. After an inspection has been performed you will receive an automated email from the permit portal informing you if the inspection has passed or failed and the required corrections. You can also view the results of an inspection by accessing your permit in the permit portal and selecting the “Inspections” tab. Click on the inspection number to open the inspection screen to see the results. If the inspection did not pass, you can view the inspector’s comments and required corrections by selecting "Checklist.”
