Wake County Human Services promotes a healthy and safe place to live, grow and work. In partnership with communities and other organizations, we enhance the ability of families and individuals to become self-sufficient while ensuring quality care for those unable to achieve self-sufficiency.
Our organizational philosophy is to provide effective service delivery through:
- Partnering with neighborhoods and communities to build the capacity of citizens to address their needs and improve their quality of life.
- A family-centered focus where appropriate, realizing that the family has a broad definition and that all persons have natural support and/or families of choice.
- A prevention focused approach, emphasizing the importance of education and early intervention to reduce the effects of disease, poverty, homelessness and the lack of resources or quality support.
- Acknowledging the importance and impact of cultural, linguistic, economic, ethnic, gender and age differences in our population.
- An outcome-driven approach looking at personal results achieved, not just specific products or units or numbers.
