Public Hearing (Feb. 15, 2010)
Wake County will hold a public hearing for the 2010–2015 Consolidated Plan for Affordable Housing and 2010 Action Plan during the Board of Commissioners meeting on Monday, February 15, 2010, at 2 p.m., in Room 700 of the Wake County Courthouse, 316 Fayetteville St., Raleigh. The purpose of this public hearing is to receive comments from interested parties on the County’s housing and community development needs.
Wake County will use this information to prepare the draft 2010–2015 Consolidated Plan and 2010 Action Plan, which are required in order for the County to receive funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The 2010 Consolidated Plan describes the activities to be carried out during fiscal years 2010–2015 within Wake County, outside of Raleigh and Holly Springs. The Action Plan describes the activities to be carried out during fiscal year 2010 within Wake County, outside of Raleigh and Holly Springs from July 1, 2010, through June 30, 2011. It is the first part of a five-year strategy to meet the County’s housing and community development goals as identified in the Consolidated Plan. The Action Plan describes activities to address the needs of Priority One and Priority Two populations, as outlined in the Consolidated Plan. Priority One and Two populations will be described in the 2010–2015 Consolidated Plan.
In the 2005 Consolidated Plan, the high priority populations for addressing needs were:
- Homeowners earning 0–40% area median income (AMI)
- Renters earning 0–40% AMI
- Homeless individuals and families
- Non-homeless individuals and families with special needs
