Foster Care Event – Unity in the Community
Wake County Human Services' Foster Care Program, with Radio One Station 103.9, "The Light," is sponsoring Unity in the Community Day. This event will be on Saturday afternoon, September 9, 2006, in Raleigh, at Lowes Food parking lot on Capital Blvd.
This is a Children/Family Focus event, with nonprofit vendors distributing educational materials about their programs. Other activities scheduled for this event are as follows: Christian music recording artists, food, fun, popcorn, and door prizes, all in a carnival-like atmosphere. This event will also include Child ID packs.
The Unity in the Community Day is to promote unity and family fellowship, also to educate the community about foster care and to recruit foster families for children, The radio station 103.9 has a listening audience of 200,000 people. In addition, we will have several live interviews informing the community about vendors in attendance. We believe we can reach a diverse population of people.
