JuanyaeJUANYAE

Juanyae (age 11) is a very friendly and outgoing child whose smile will warm your heart. He entered foster care in 2005 and, unfortunately, has experienced a great deal of loss and instability for most of his life. He is waiting for a loving and caring adoptive family that he can call his own.

Juanyae is a very athletic child. He loves playing sports, especially basketball, football and kickball. He also loves listening to music, in addition to playing board and card games. Juanyae enjoys going out to dinner. Although he is not a picky eater, his favorite foods in the whole world are hamburgers, pizza and milkshakes!

Like many children in foster care, Juanyae struggles with feelings of doubt and insecurity. He needs a loving, patient and energetic family who will set clear limits and help him achieve his fullest potential. Juanyae also needs a family that will advocate on his behalf, and be very understanding and sensitive to his needs.

Brianna BRIANNA

Brianna (age 13) is a friendly and nurturing girl who has spent much of her life taking care of others. Those who know Brianna describe her as a very “mature and resilient” person who has overcome many obstacles in her life. Brianna admits that she can be very guarded at times, but this tends to be her way of dealing with the chaos around her.

In her free time, Brianna loves to cook and bake. In fact, she is not shy when it comes to her culinary skills, stating that she can “cook or bake anything!” Brianna also enjoys doing hair, watching television, listening to music, and designing pictures on the computer. After high school, Brianna says that she would like to attend college. She also has dreams of becoming a chef or beautician!

Brianna has been let down by so many adults who were supposed to love and care for her. She desperately wants to be a “normal kid” and grow up in a loving home. Brianna needs a committed adoptive family who will be there for her through thick and thin. She would do best with a family who could be patient and give her time to feel comfortable in her new home, while at the same time be available to give her LOTS of positive, one-on-one attention. Brianna has missed out on so much during her younger years and would greatly benefit from additional opportunities to have fun and “just be a kid.” She also needs a family that will understand her past and be willing to advocate on her behalf, especially in the school setting. Brianna has contact with her birth family – therefore, an adoptive family should help her maintain these important connections.

Devin and Dustin

DEVIN and DUSTIN

Devin and Dustin are two AMAZING siblings who entered foster care in 2007. The children have an extremely close relationship and enjoy making each other laugh. They look forward to being placed together in their new adoptive home.

Devin (6) is a very active and inquisitive child who has a great sense of humor. He loves to swim, play outdoors and ride his bike. He is very strong and athletic and likes to be competitive. His social worker describes him as a “resilient” child who is “capable of a great deal of love and affection.” Devin thrives on individual attention, as well as positive rewards for good behavior. Devin struggles with feeling secure in his surroundings, especially while at school. He requires concrete instructions, as well as a very organized and predictable environment.

Dustin (7) is described as an “amazing child” who is “wise beyond his years!” He is very sweet and engaging, and does not mind helping out around the house. Dustin loves Rock and Roll music and anything electronic. He likes to play sports, ride his bike and take trips to the park. Dustin can be very impulsive and has a hard time trusting others to keep him safe. School can be a challenge for him; however, his social worker reports that he is making great progress!

Devin and Dustin need a loving, caring and active adoptive family who will set clear limits and advocate on the children’s behalf. It is recommended that they be placed with an experienced two-parent family, where one or both parents has a flexible schedule. Additionally, there should be no younger or same-aged children in the home, and the boys should have their own bedrooms. Lastly, the adoptive family should be open to helping the boys maintain contact with their two younger sisters, who were recently adopted by another family. A good sense of humor is also a plus!
