4-H Horse Program

The Wake County 4-H Horse Program exists to allow youth ages 5–19 to develop life skills through work with horses. In addition to showmanship, youth learn about horse husbandry, nutrition, veterinary science and leadership through the horse program.

Wake County 4-H has an active Adult Horse Council and Youth Horse Council. 4-H horse program youth and adults are always welcome at these meetings. For information on either council, or for additional information, please contact Martha Smith at 919-250-1092 or email martha.smith@wakegov.com.

Horse Council Meetings

Youth and Adult Horse Council meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Wake County Extension Office (4001-E Carya Drive, Raleigh, NC 27610). The Horse Council does not meet in July.

Visit the Wake County 4-H Horse Council Web page.
