A successful job search incorporates thoughtfully developed tools to effectively market individual skills, including:
  • Targeted resumes and well-written cover letters,
  • An educated and strategic use of online job search resources, and
  • Creative and determined networking practices.
We highly recommend meeting with an employment advisor or taking an HRD class at Wake Technical Community College on conducting a successful job search, to develop a job search strategy. The NCWorks Career Center at Swinburne is open Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4:15 p.m., and on Tuesday evenings until 8 p.m. No appointment is required to register and use center resources; an appointment to meet one-on-one with an employment advisor can be scheduled during orientation (part of the initial registration) or by calling 919-250-3770.
