Donna McClellan is Wake County Human Services’ Human Resources Officer. She has served in this capacity since 2016.

She most recently served as the Vice President of Human Resources for a global beauty retail company where she led a Human Resources team of 18 supporting approximately 2,000 employees across the US, Canada and Mexico. There, McClellan was instrumental in initiating a top down Diversity and Inclusion Training program educating employees on the value of embracing different perspectives and experiences in support of personal and business growth through creativity and innovation. She has over 25 years of private sector Human Resource experience with proven success in building teams, succession planning, employee engagement and retention.

She is skilled at developing and maintaining strong business relationships, serving as a strategic business partner, trusted coach and advisor promoting the strategic priorities, culture, mission and values of an organization. McClellan is passionate about creating a workplace where all employees feel respected and included allowing them to feel valued and challenged.

In her role as the Human Services Human Resources Officer, McClellan oversees a team that provides support and leadership to the Human Services divisional teams as it relates to recruitment, employee development and retention of talent. Her team supports the overall strategic objectives of Wake County Human Resources and Human Services in the delivery of integrated services to our community members in need.
