Annemarie Maiorano is Wake County Human Services’ Deputy Director for Operations. She has served in this capacity since 2015.

She most recently served as the Wake County Human Services Housing Program Manager and Transportation Division Director. Maiorano has over 20 years of experience in affordable housing and community development in both the public and private sectors.  In that time she prepared housing elements and feasibility studies for local governments and housing developers.  She also worked with private developers to develop over 2800 affordable housing units for low income people.

Maiorano holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Villanova University. She earned a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University. She is also an American Institute of Certified Planners certified member of the American Planning Association.

In her role as Deputy Human Services Director, Maiorano provides operational and administrative support to all agency functions including Economic Services, Public Health and Child Welfare.  She also leads agency initiatives that have community-wide impacts such as a multi-services center for homeless individuals and families, expansion of Human Services programs in the western region of the county and the Human Services 10-year facilities master plan.
