The NC Department of Health and Human Services has developed and implemented on online application assessment, screening and application for services tool.

The NC Electronic Pre-Assessment Screening Service tool (ePASS) is a secure, internet-based solution that provides a quick and easy way for clients and customers to see if they are eligible for services.

Simply create an online account at the NC Electronic Pre-Assessment Screening Service website and get started!

1.  You can use the online ePass Assessment Tool to discover if you might be eligible for benefits. 

2.  You can use the online ePass Application Tool ti import the results from your online assessment and use them to automatically complete your application!

Currently, you can use ePass to screen for your potential eligibility and to apply for the following programs:

• Food and Nutrition Services (Food Stamps)
• Emergency Assistance
• Work First Cash Assistance
• Crisis Intervention Program (CIP)

When you're done, simply print and fax, email or mail us your application and we'll take over from there!

NOTE:  Starting April 30th, if you are completing an application for our Food and Nutrition Services program you can submit your ePASS application online directly from the ePASS website!  You no longer have to mail or drop off your Food and Nutrition Services application.
