Public mental health, developmental disability and substance abuse services are managed by the Wake Local Management Entity (LME). The Wake LME staff will assist you to find a service provider that is well-matched with your needs. The Wake LME Access Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist you with finding a provider.

Crisis situations are often best resolved in the client's home setting. The Mobile Crisis Team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to urgent situations. SEEK EMERGENCY HELP...
Wake County Human Services provides a specialized crisis center where clients can walk in to receive a professional mental health assessment and referrals to services, including psychiatric hospitals. Appointments are not needed, but a wait time of several hours is likely. The center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
