It’s time to get covered!

If you – or someone you know – needs health insurance, now’s your chance to sign up for coverage through the health care marketplace.

Open Enrollment only happens once each year. This year’s Open Enrollment runs from Nov. 1, 2019, through Dec. 15, 2019.

If you have questions about signing up for health insurance or want to talk through your options with a trained professional, FREE and confidential help is available from health insurance navigators on-site at Wake County Human Services locations:

  • Sunnybrook, 10 Sunnybrook Road, Raleigh
    Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

  • Swinburne, 220 Swinburne St., Raleigh
    Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
You can also make an appointment with a health insurance navigator by calling 855-733-3711 or by using the GetCovered Connector
There are a lot of choices when it comes to health care – the navigators are available to help you understand your options and make sure you feel confident that you’ve picked the right plan.
There are five key facts consumers should know:
  1. You have financial protections if you face severe illness.
  2. If you have a pre-existing health condition, insurers can no longer drop you or refuse to cover you.
  3. You can stay on your parent's health plan until you turn 26.
  4. Insurers cannot charge higher premiums if you are a woman.
  5. Insurers cannot sell substandard plans that don't pay for essential health care benefits.
Everyone is welcome! Anyone interested in enrolling through, or those who want to learn more about their health plan options, are encouraged to visit a Wake County Human Services location.
