Consumer and Family Advisory Committee
CFAC Mission Statement
The Wake County Consumer and Family Advisory Committee (WCFAC) promotes a community-based support system that seeks to have each person reach his or her full potential. The WCFAC embraces the dignity of all residents of Wake County so that each person may achieve his or her highest level of responsibility in the community. The Wake Consumer and Family Advisory Committee acts as the conscience of the community in protecting the guiding principles of the Local Business Plan, including the empowerment of consumers and the active involvement of family members.
Who are we?
WCFAC is composed of consumers and family members who reside in Wake County and live with mental illness, developmental disability, and/or substance abuse. Some activities are:
- Offer recommendations on services of service eligibility and service array
- Identify gaps in services
- Assist in the identification of under-serviced populations
- Provide advice and consultation regarding development of additional services and new models of service.
What do we do?
- Review and comment on the state and local service budgets
- Observe and report on the implementation of the state and local business plans
- Ensure participation of consumer and family members in all quality improvement projects at both the provider and LME levels.
When do we meet?
The WCFAC meets on the 4th Tuesday each month from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Board room at
