Complaint and Grievance Policy

Wake County Human Services strives to provide services of the highest quality that are responsive to the expressed needs of service recipients; however, if a person is dissatisfied with a particular service, the person has the right to express a complaint to resolve the issue.

All efforts shall be made to resolve issues with the staff involved or their direct supervisors; however, each person has the right to contact the Consumer Rights Program at any time.

A formal grievance can be made to the Human Rights Committee of the Wake County Human Services Board if the complaint is not resolved to the satisfaction of the person filing the complaint.

Consumers and staff shall not be subject to retaliation or harassment for making a complaint or grievance.
