Institutional Food Services (Nursing Home Kitchens)
Nursing home kitchens serve food to elderly residents. Older people and people with weakened immune systems are more likely to suffer the severe effects of any illness, including foodborne illness. Nursing home kitchens are inspected more often because of this. The food in these establishments is prepared and served to residents of the facilities and not to the general public.
Risk-Based Inspections
and Frequency Health inspections focus on the food-handling practices that most often result in foodborne illness. Institutional Foodservice Facilities are inspected four times a year.
