Wake County Environmental Services Youth Council
The Wake County Department of Environmental Services is seeking applications from Wake County high school students interested in participating in the new Environmental Services Youth Council. Council members will learn about environmental issues and policies in Wake County and advise departmental staff on existing and future youth programs.
The deadline for applications for the 2011–12 Environmental Services Youth Council has passed, and applications are no longer being accepted. Applications for the 2012–13 year will be available here in Spring 2012.

Commitment:
- Serve on the Youth Council for a term of one school year
- Attend eight out of 11 monthly meetings
- Participate in at least one environmental community service event per semester. This can include (but is not limited to) helping Wake County with a recycling booth, giving a presentation to a community group, or organizing a litter cleanup.
