Jonathan Olson is a native of Pittsburgh, Pa. He is a graduate of the Emergency Medical Care program at Western Carolina University and holds an MBA and MHA from Pfeiffer University. He is a 2005 graduate of the UNC Institute of Government County Administration program and is currently enrolled in the Executive Fire Officer program at the National Fire Academy and. Jon was profiled in EMS Magazine’s Annual Emerging Leaders in EMS Forum in 2004.

His career with Wake County began in 1990 as a paramedic. He was promoted to District Chief in 1994 and served as Division Chief of Management Services from 2003 through 2007. In his current role as Assistant Chief, he oversees EMS Operations and Special Operations. A volunteer firefighter since 1986, he resides in Wendell with his wife and two children.
