Applied Technologies Chief


Bennie Collins is responsible for all applied technologies projects for the Wake County EMS System.  He manages the In-Vehicle Navigation program, the electronic Patient Care Reporting and mobile connectivity systems.  In addition, he handles electronic access controls and is the departmental liaison to the Wake County Department of Information Services.

He is a graduate of Wake Tech Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Emergency Medical Services and holds a Bachelor of Health Science degree from Campbell University.

Chief Collins began his career with Wake County in 1984 as and EMT-Intermediate and obtained his paramedic certification in 1985.  He was promoted to Field Training Officer in 1994, to District Chief in 2003 and to his current position in 2008.

Bennie lives with his wife in Wendell.
