Administration and Planning

Assistant Chief Colangelo is responsible for Administration and Planning. Specifically, he oversees:

• Division Standards
• Human Resources
• Recruitment and Hiring
• The Model System Plan

Assistant Chief Colangelo began his career with Wake County EMS in January 1993 as a paramedic. He was promoted to Field Training Officer in 1998 and to Assistant Chief in 2003. Prior to coming to Wake County, he had emergency service experience in Hampton, Va., and St. Mary's County, Md.

He is a graduate of Wake Tech Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Emergency Medical Science as well as Campbell University with a Bachelor of Health Science.

Assistant Chief Colangelo lives with his wife and daughter in Clayton.
