7/27/2006
On Monday, May 15 2006, Wake County EMS Chief Skip Kirkwood accepted a plaque from the U.S. Secret Service in appreciation for EMS ongoing support of their protective and enforcement missions. "We present this plaque to Wake County EMS in appreciation of the support you have provided us in recent years," Special Agent in Charge Jim Henry stated.
"It doesn't matter if we need an ambulance for a protection detail or several of your Tactical Medics for an enforcement entry, your dedication and professionalism makes our job easier," stated Special Agent Sean Lynch. "Its nice to know that we have Wake County Paramedics to take care of us should something happened to one us." Wake County EMS has provided resources for presidential and campaign visits, as well as medical support for several Secret Service high-risk warrant services.
Special Agent in Charge Henry presented the plaque to Chief Kirkwood at the weekly Command Staff Meeting. The presentation kicked off National EMS Week celebrations. For more information on EMS Week activities
