EMS Participates in Emergency Training Exercise
Wake County EMS participated in a Unified Command and Control emergency training exercise for local public safety workers on Thursday, March 2, at the Wake County Fire Training Center. This exercise was developed by the Wake County Public Safety Department, Fire/Rescue Division, in partnership with Wake Technical Community College, to address federal National Incident Management System (NIMS) requirements.
This exercise ended a week long class in incident management. Wake County EMS had four representatives in the class. The exercise included emergency responders from fire, law enforcement and EMS responding to a simulated law enforcement event with an unknown chemical event. Information learned from the class and exercise will be taken back to each agency in order to improve emergency response capabilities within Wake County.
