Wake County EMS Summer Camp is a 5-day program for ages 15–19 years old, which is held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at our EMS Training Center.

Do you know someone considering EMS as a career or simply interested in exploring more about what EMS is all about? This is the perfect opportunity.

Make no mistake, this is about hands-on summer activity that teaches many components of the EMS system and what it's like to take care of people as a paramedic or EMT.

Now, we want to point out that there are no certifications issued, because we want to
focus on the activities rather than sitting in lecture. Our goals are to show you what it's like to work in EMS and how to begin working toward the training and education for a career in EMS.

We'll teach a number of EMS skills, we'll learn about all the vehicles and equipment in the EMS System, we'll spend a half-day at the pool learning some techniques, we'll visit the Raleigh-Wake 9-1-1 Center, and finally, we'll spend a day riding along on real EMS calls.

We're offering three sessions of summer camp to choose from in 2019.

Week 1 June 17–21
Week 2 June 24–28
Week 3 July 8–12

We will also offer an Advanced Camp the week of July 15–19. This will build on previous camp experience, and it will go into greater detail on the clinical aspect of EMS care. It will also build into more advanced real-life scenarios of patient care. To be eligible for advanced camp, participants must have completed the initial EMS Camp during any of our previous or current camp years.

There are no fees.               Sign Up For Camp Here
