The Director/Medical Director of Wake County EMS is supported by the Chief Operating Officer, five Deputy Directors, and a Deputy Medical Director. The deputy directors each oversee specific functions and staff.

Deputy Director responsibilities:

Operations – Paramedics, EMS Techs, Field Training Officers (FTOs), District Chiefs, Special Events, and Special Operations.

Support Services – Logistics, Technology, fleetfacilities, EMS subscriptions, and preparedness.

Professional Development – Training, Continuing Medical Educationpatient care simulation and EMS academies.

Medical Affairs – Continuous Quality Improvement, research and data analysis, coordination of the Deputy Medical Director, EMS Fellowships, District Chief 9 and the Advanced Practice Paramedic (APP) program.

Business Office – Managing workflow of budget, finance and human resources documents for EMS business office. Involvement with budgets, contracts and analytical activity.
